Keep irrigation and sprinkler system components safe from damage with the 8 in. X 12 in. Oval Standard Series Valve Box and Cover. The oval shape is often preferred over round or rectangular valve boxes when space and component fit are key considerations. The elongated shape provides room to reach into the box to turn valves or make repairs when a round valve box may be too cramped; it also takes up minimal space in the landscape unlike the bulkier rectangular box. The body is tapered and has a double wall at the top cover seat area, with 10 structural support ribs on the underside of the seat for added strength. The bottom of the body features a flange to anchor the box in place, reduce the risk of the box sinking into soft soil over time, and to form a barrier to minimize dirt and debris from entering from underneath. Drop-in cover has a marking for “CONTROL VALVE” to identify components. Both the box and lid are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) treated with UV inhibitors.
