Tehama Lettuce is a spring crisp variety that is exceptionally heat-tolerant. This is an all-season variety in most climates and can be grown well into the warmer months in most states. It exhibits a vigorous growth pattern and is slow to bolt as temperatures warm from spring to summer. Tehama Lettuce produces large heads of dark green leaves that are crisp and slightly incised. It holds well in the field, allowing for a longer harvesting window. This is great for the home gardener because it can be harvested as you need it, not all at one time. For best results, densely plant transplants about 8-12″ apart. This will maximize growing space and also help to reduce weed pressure as the plant density will shade any new weed development.
