The Ultimate Solution for Low-Pressure and Gravity-Fed Systems
The 3/4″ Baccara DC Valve is a highly specialized inline irrigation valve designed to solve one of the most frustrating problems in drip irrigation: finding an automated valve that works without high municipal water pressure. Standard irrigation valves require anywhere from 10 to 15 PSI just to push the internal diaphragm open. This Baccara valve requires an incredibly low 4.3 PSI and just 0.5 GPM of flow, making it arguably the only DC valve on the market perfectly suited for gravity-fed layouts, rain barrel setups, and ultra-small drip zones.
Equipped with a pre-installed DC latching solenoid, this valve is designed to pair seamlessly with battery-operated irrigation controllers (such as node timers) where running AC power wires is impossible. Featuring standard 3/4-inch Female Pipe Thread (FPT) inlet and outlet connections, it easily adapts to your existing plumbing or PVC fittings. Built with Baccara’s legendary reputation for precision agricultural automation, this valve ensures reliable, leak-free performance even in the most demanding off-grid environments.
- Ultra-Low Pressure: Operates at an astonishingly low 4.3 PSI, making it the premier choice for gravity-fed and rain barrel irrigation systems.
- Low Flow Capability: Safely opens and closes with as little as 0.5 GPM, preventing the valve from “stuttering” on very small drip irrigation zones.
- DC Latching Solenoid: Operates on battery power rather than a wall outlet, allowing you to automate irrigation in remote, off-grid locations.
- Standard Sizing: Features universal 3/4″ FPT inlet and outlet ports, making it easy to adapt to PVC, poly tubing, or garden hose threads with the right adapters.

A quick guide to correctly plumbing and wiring your DC latching valve.
Step 1: Tape the Fittings
Wrap 3/4-inch Male Pipe Thread (MPT) adapters with 2 to 3 layers of thread sealant tape. Never use liquid pipe dope on plastic irrigation valves.
Step 2: Plumb the Valve
Hand-tighten the taped adapters into the 3/4″ FPT inlet and outlet on the valve. Check the arrows stamped on the valve body to ensure you install it facing the correct direction of water flow.
Step 3: Connect the Wires (Polarity Matters)
Unlike AC valves, DC latching solenoids require correct polarity. Connect the red wire from the solenoid to the positive (+) or designated zone wire on your battery controller. Connect the black wire to the negative (-) or common terminal.
Step 4: Waterproof the Splices
Twist the wires together and secure them using silicone-filled waterproof wire connectors. This is a critical step to prevent corrosion, especially if the valve is buried in a wet underground valve box.
