Instantly Double Your Irrigation Coverage

The Galcon Alternator Valve is an ingenious, water-powered accessory that instantly upgrades a single-station watering system into a dual-zone setup. If your garden has outgrown its current water supply, there is no need to buy an expensive multi-port timer or build a complex PVC manifold. Simply thread this mechanical alternator directly below your existing battery-operated hose timer.

This unit requires absolutely no batteries or electrical wiring. It is powered entirely by the kinetic energy of the water moving through it. Every time your upstream timer turns the water flow off and then back on, the internal gears mechanically switch the flow to the opposite outlet. This allows you to effortlessly alternate watering between two separate drip lines, effectively doubling your watering capacity from a single spigot.

Why Choose the Galcon Alternator Valve?
  • No Batteries Required: Completely mechanical operation runs strictly on water pressure, guaranteeing long-lasting reliability without replacing batteries.
  • Instant Zone Doubling: Easily splits one timer cycle into two alternating zones, preserving water pressure for larger gardens.
  • Universal Hose Threads: Features standard hose threads (FHT/MHT) to easily connect to your residential spigot, timer, and garden hoses or drip mainlines.
  • Cost-Effective Expansion: Saves you the expense and hassle of buying a larger controller or trenching new plumbing manifolds.

How to Set Up: Installation & Programming

Follow these steps to correctly install and program your alternator setup.

Step 1: Attach to Timer
Thread the female inlet of the Alternator Valve securely onto the bottom male outlet of your existing hose-end water timer.

Step 2: Connect Head Assemblies
Attach your filters, pressure regulators, and drip mainline tubing to the two male outlets on the bottom of the Alternator Valve.

Step 3: Program the Timer
Reprogram your timer to run twice as often. For example, to water both zones for 30 minutes every morning, set Start Time A for 6:00 AM (runs Zone 1) and Start Time B for 6:31 AM (runs Zone 2).

Step 4: Allow Recovery Time
Always ensure there is a minimum gap of one minute between the end of the first watering cycle and the start of the second to allow the internal mechanism to fully shift.
