Paper Moon Scabiosa (Scabiosa stellata) is a captivating annual grown for its pale blue flowers that mature into intricate, papery seed pods resembling celestial orbs — hence its fitting name, Paper Moon. Native to Southern Europe, this variety adds a sculptural, textural element to both fresh and dried arrangements.
As the blooms fade, each transforms into a perfectly round, star-patterned seed head that holds its shape and beauty for months. Easy to grow and highly ornamental, Paper Moon Scabiosa thrives in full sun, well-drained soil, and is a favorite among florists and gardeners alike for its long vase life and unique form.
