Protect Your Essential Irrigation Components Underground
Burying your automated irrigation valves is the best way to keep your landscape looking clean, but those delicate electrical components still need rigorous protection from dirt, debris, and lawnmowers. The Dura Valve Boxes provide a safe, easily accessible underground housing for your valve manifolds, wire splices, and waterproof battery timers. Installing a box saves you time, labor, and money by ensuring you never have to dig up your yard just to perform basic valve maintenance.
Constructed from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), these inexpensive boxes offer incredible strength and excellent chemical resistance against harsh soil conditions and fertilizers. Designed to sit completely flush with your lawn or mulch, the green lid blends seamlessly into the environment while providing a “Light Duty Pedestrian” load rating. It’s a simple, professional-grade upgrade that drastically extends the lifespan of your automated irrigation system.
- Easy Component Access: Allows you to perform maintenance, flush valves, or change timer batteries instantly without digging up your yard.
- HDPE Construction: High-Density Polyethylene provides excellent structural strength and resists degradation from soil chemicals.
- Protects Equipment: Shields delicate solenoid wires, waterproof wire connectors, and PVC manifolds from dirt, shovels, and lawnmowers.
- Landscape Integration: The green lid sits perfectly flush with the ground, keeping your irrigation hardware hidden but accessible.

A quick guide to properly burying your valve box to ensure good drainage.
Step 1: Dig the Hole
Dig a hole slightly wider and deeper than the Dura Valve Box. Pour 2 to 3 inches of crushed gravel into the bottom of the hole. This gravel base is critical; it allows water to drain away from your electrical valves.
Step 2: Prep the Box
Cut or snap out the pre-scored “mouse holes” at the bottom edges of the valve box to allow your PVC or poly mainline tubing to pass through the walls of the enclosure.
Step 3: Set and Level
Place the box over your assembled valve manifold so it rests securely on the gravel base. Ensure the lid of the box is perfectly level and sits flush with the final grade of the soil or mulch.
Step 4: Backfill
Place the lid securely on the box so dirt does not fall inside. Backfill the dirt around the outside edges of the box, tamping it down firmly to prevent the box from shifting over time.
