Commercial-Grade Wireless Automation
The Galcon DC Valve series brings robust, professional-grade water management to remote areas of your property where traditional AC power simply isn’t available. Equipped with a highly efficient 2-wire DC latching solenoid, these valves are engineered to operate seamlessly with battery-operated irrigation controllers.
Whether you are watering a small raised bed garden or managing a massive agricultural setup, there is a Galcon valve for the job. Ranging from 3/4″ up to a massive 2″ connection size, these valves handle incredible pressure (up to 150 PSI) and extreme flow rates (up to 160 GPM). By completely eliminating the need to trench hardwired electrical lines across your landscape, the Galcon DC valves save you serious time, labor, and money while delivering unmatched automation reliability.
- Trenchless Automation: The DC latching solenoid allows you to fully automate irrigation in distant garden beds or fields without digging up your yard to run 24V electrical wire.
- Massive Scalability: Available in 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/2″, and 2″ sizes to perfectly match the flow demands of anything from a residential patio to a commercial orchard.
- Battery Efficient: DC latching technology only uses a tiny pulse of battery power to open and close the valve, ensuring your controller batteries last an entire season.
- Manual Operation: Features manual operation capabilities, allowing you to easily test or flush the zone without needing to access the timer.

Follow these steps to securely install your battery-operated valve.
Step 1: Install the Valve Box
As an inline valve without an atmospheric vacuum breaker, it must be installed underground inside a protective plastic valve box. Ensure the box is large enough to house both the valve and your battery-operated controller.
Step 2: Connect to Mainline
Wrap Teflon tape around your male PVC threaded adapters and screw them into the valve’s inlet and outlet ports. Verify the directional arrow on the valve body points downstream.
Step 3: Wire the DC Controller
Splice the two wires from the DC latching solenoid directly to your Galcon (or compatible) battery-operated controller. Use silicone-filled waterproof wire nuts to ensure the connection won’t short out in the damp underground box.
Step 4: System Flush
Turn on the main water supply. Manually activate the valve to flush out any dirt or PVC glue residue. Once clear, run a test cycle from your battery controller to ensure the latching solenoid is operating correctly.
